March 3 – Northbrook, IL
Maple School Electronics Recycling

The Maple School Parents and Teachers Organization, in cooperation with USM-e, will be hosting an Electronic Recycling Drop-off Event on Saturday, March 3. The recycling drive will be held at Maple School, 2370 Shermer Road, Northbrook, IL from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items to be accepted include old cell phones, PCs, laptops, computer monitors, printers, copiers, etc. Please check their website for the list of acceptable donations and for more information.

March 17 – San Jose, CA
Sims Teams Up With San Jose Sharks To Collect Electronics and Appliances

Sims Recycling Solutions has partnered with the hockey team San Jose Sharks to host an electronics recycling event on March 17, 2012. The following items will be accepted: computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, PDAs, cell phones, telephones, televisions, radios, stereos, speakers, MP3 players, CD and DVD players, VCRs, clean metal free of debris and fluids and appliances. The recycling drive will be held at the HP Pavilion’s main parking lot located at 525 West Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on the 17th.

Recycling of Old Electronics To Benefit Habitat for Humanity

The Habitat ReStore in New Brighton, CT has opened its doors to receive electronic items (old cell phones, old computers, monitors, televisions, etc.) for recycling and proper disposal. It’s a vital service, according to Michael Urness, ReStore Manager, as there are no other locations in Ramsey County that accept electronic recyclables. The project will benefit the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to help fund their work in building more homes for the needy. Habitat ReStore is located at 510 County Road D West, New Brighton, MN. South Suburban Family Shelter

The South Suburban Family Shelter is still accepting old or used cell phone donations as part of their ongoing fundraising campaign. The SSFS is a nonprofit agency working to provide shelter, safe haven, and other services to families in domestic violence situations. Drop-off sites include: SSFS administrative office, 18139 Harwood, Homewood; Bergstein’s NY Deli, 200 Dixie Highway, Chicago Heights; and Doyle Designed Salon, 2630 Flossmoor Road., Flossmoor.
