One thing is emphatically clear. Unless a sustained effort is resolved for recycling, the efforts to save the environment is merely on paper.

Glad they're now obliging electronics manufacturers to create their own recycling programs. This should have done a long time ago. Seriously, there are only two e-waste recyclers in the whole state of Illinois?

I hope that the expense on these vehicles go down like all new technologies. I would like to have one but that is just to expensive. i wonder about dependability and how the cost will go down in years to come when there are a lot of used EV's out there

Shannon Bratcher

I think that it is great for the U.S. Military to start making the military bases more energy efficient. I think this is leading by example. Also I believe making military bases energy efficient will ultimately be better for the tax payers and the economy all together. I believe it will also make our country more attractive when it comes to being energy efficient. For example, China is a very energy efficient country.

This is suprising, except for the fact that Google's invested heavily in renewables, there are extensive solar projects in California and all these are underpinning develpment. Solar roofs appear to be making a significant in-road in the UK, particularly among businesses, where running costs can be significantly reduced by using renewables. Ergo, the industry may be having some hiccups, but looks to be growning well.

Thahks for the great article. I would not have guessed the numbers you site. I just hope that the solar energy industry continues to make progress. The next step is to make solar panels that make sense for the average homeowner. That is when it will truly take off.
