The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a video competition “to raise awareness of the connection between the environment and the ’stuff’ people use, consume, recycle, and throw away.” The competition, called “Our Planet, Our Stuff, Our Choice,” aims to promote awareness of recycling, composting, consumption and environmental footprint, and the three R’s – reduce, reuse, recycle.
The video contest is open to all US citizens and legal residents. Video entries must be 30 seconds or 60 seconds in length and should inspire action and community involvement by showing how you manage your “stuff” as individuals or members of a community.
Contestants may submit entries as video response on YouTube to the EPA video promoting the contest (see video above). Entries sent to EPA should be received or postmarked by February 16, 2010 to be eligible and should show the EPA website link in the last 3 seconds of the video. Winners will be recognized in April 2010. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 videos.
