Exquisitely detailed art from recycled auto parts.  EcoFriend list of beautiful art pieces made of metal recycled from junk automobile or motorbike parts

We’re featuring again today a list by EcoFriend, sort of a sequel to the last EcoFriend list on Fantastic Computer Upcycling Art. This time, it’s a list of beautiful art pieces made entirely of metal recycled from junk automobile or motorbike parts.

Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without the de rigueur recycled metal robots. Featured are the Transformer robots by Yang Julin in Southern China, a robot-like figure by Nikola Nikolov, an artist working for Studio Re-Creation, and a gargantuan transformer robot sculpture currently displayed at the Bird’s Nest Olympics Park in Beijing.

But what really caught our attention are the exquisite Alien movie-themed artworks included in this list. Absolutely amazing! I guess it’s safe to say that artists who are fans of ‘Alien’ pay more attention to details than say artists who are fun of the Pillsbury Doughboy. Just kidding.

Don’t take my word for it. See for yourself the stunning craftsmanship and the painstaking attention to detail in these ‘Alien’ metal sculptures.

Our favorite is the creature sculpture created by Thai artist Krittayakorn Chaijit (see photo above). Ever thought of riding an alien motorbike? This cool ride by Roongrojna Sangwongprisarn, an artist from Bangkok might just be the bike your looking for. For €180, ‘Alien’ fans from Europe can also take home great themed sculptures by an Irish company called Robosteel, also featured in this list.

Incidentally, what’s up with these Thai artists creating these brilliant sculptures from recycled auto metal parts? Presumably, the culture that produced those beautifully-detailed ancient temple facades is also at work here. I’d love to order any of these for myself but the shipping costs from Thailand is way out there, I’ll just have to wait for that dream Phuket vacation I’ve been wanting to take for years. Maybe, after the flood waters subside.

Other items featured in this list are western-themed bull sculptures by Mexican artist Armando Ramirez, a three-wheeled motorbike by Max Scott from Bremerton, and an elegant rustic chess set made of junked spark plugs, sprockets, and heavy bolts.

Of course, in terms of practical impact on metal recycling, I’m sure these art pieces hardly make a dent on the tons and tons of auto metals that need to be recycled. But, they’re works of art. They don’t need any justification other than being beautiful.
