Last week, we featured the Salvation Army, one of the organizations were currently working with, in one of our blog posts. Today, we are proud to write about another great organization that’s using cell phone drives as one of its means to raise funds for its various projects.
Feed The Children, based here in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is a Christian, international, nonprofit relief organization “that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.”
Since its founding in 1979, Feed The Children has grown into one of the largest private relief organizations in the world, today. They are now currently helping deliver food and other necessities to needy children and families in all 50 states and in 118 countries worldwide.
Feed The Children in the United States
This is the very core of their program, delivering food to needy families throughout the United States by working with corporate partners and individual donors who donate resources and help transport the collected goods to the Feed The Children’s 6 US regional distribution centers. From there, food and other items are distributed by partner agencies to the extensive network of of feeding centers, homeless shelters, churches, etc. located within the communities in need.
Feed The Children also works with homeless coordinators in various schools in the country, under their Homeless Education and Literacy Program (HELP), to distribute books and other supplies to homeless children.
Initiatives In Other Countries
Feed The Children is touching the lives of millions of children worldwide by distributing food to hungry children and their families in 118 countries. A key element in the work of Feed The Children abroad is their effort to help these families progress from being needy to becoming self-sufficient, thus freeing resources for the relief of poorer children and families.
Donate your old or used cellphones to Feed The Children
Pacebutler is currently working with Feed The Children, and we have set up a special page for this very purpose. If you wish to help Feed The Children by collecting and sending old cell phones, you can request for shipping label here. Once we receive your cell phones (old but working or serviceable), a check will be cut in favor of Feed The Children or any of the other organizations you wish to donate to. You can check out the list of qualified cell phones and purchase prices here.
Folks, this is one organization that deserves all our help, so start searching for those cell phones you’ve tossed into some drawer last year. If you want to help them, but not through cell phone drives, please proceed to their website (linked above) for more information.

A very simple internet search would show this organization to be a false charity. American Intitute of Philanthropy gives Feed the Children an “F” do a simple search or go to this link and you will see how dirty this organization is. Very little of the money you give them actually goes to feed the children.
