Here is June 2012 cell phone recycling drives by Pacebutler.

Here’s our list of cell phone collection events throughout the U.S. for the month of June 2012. Again, if you’re holding your own mobile phone fundraising in your community, please add your information to this page. You may also send your damaged cell phones for proper disposal to Pacebutler Corporation or to our recycling partner, the American Cell Phone Drive.

June 2 – Nixa, Missouri
E-Cycle Event

The City of Nixa in Christian County, Missouri is hosting an ‘e-cycle’ event tomorrow Saturday, June 2 at The Nixa Community Center, 701 N. Taylor Way, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please bring your old cell phones, LCD and CRT TVs and monitors (limit one per household), video game consoles, fax machines, computer parts, cables and cords,laptops, desktop computers*, lawn equipment, televisions, telephones, cameras, batteries, printers, large and small appliances, stereo equipment.

Please be advised that deposited hard drives will be destroyed immediately to protect privacy, make sure that you have removed or backed-up all important information from your machines. The city has partnered with Computer Trade Recycling Center to process all materials.

June 6-20 Anchorage, Alaska
Mountaineer Cell Phone Recycling Drive


Annie Pasarello, a mountain climber and member of the nonprofit Big City Mountaineers has posted a personal appeal on Craigslist for her cell phone collection drive that will benefit at-risk youth. You can help Annie by dropping off your used cell phones at REI, 1200 W Northern Lights Blvd Ste A, Anchorage and at the Alaska Rock Gym, 4840 Fairbanks Street Anchorage. Proceeds from this drive will be used to help fund weeklong wilderness immersions for at-risk youth. You can also help Annie with direct donations to fund her planned climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa that will also benefit at-risk teens nationwide.

June 29 – Bergen County, NJ
Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive

Bergen County in New Jersey is hosting a cell phone collection drive this month to help provide troops stationed overseas with international calling cards that they can use to call their families in the U.S. Local residents can donate their used cell phones at these locations: at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute – 281 Campgaw Road, Mahwah, at the Country Administration building in Hackensack, and at the County Zoo in Paramus. Donations are accepted until Friday, June 29. All collected cell phones from this June Drive will also be sent to Cell Phone for Soldiers along with 213 old mobile phones that Bergen County collected in May from several county offices and departments.

June 2012 – Mountain Jam, Hunter, NY
Rock the Earth Mobile Phone Recycling Campaign

Rock The Earth, the music industry nonprofit working to help protect the environment, has launched its annual Mobile Phone Recycling Campaign this Memorial Day weekend simultaneously in 3 locations in Illinois, Maryland, and Colorado. Fans can still donate their used cell phones at the Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY, Wakarusa in Ozark, Ark., and at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Participants can turn in their old mobile phones at these events in exchange for a 20 percent discount from the LiveNation Store and a chance to win items like CDs, DVDs, t-shirts, free music downloads from Live Downloads, 2013 festival passes.

June 2012 Tempe, Arizona
Free Electronics Recycling

Tempe-based recycling company, I Buy Scrap, is opening its doors to Tempe residents who want to recycle old electronic items for free. Residents can bring in their used cell phones, laptops, power supplies, power chords, computer towers, motherboards, hard drives, dvd players, batteries, and circuit boards to the I Buy Scrap location at 1110 East Gilbert Drive in Tempe. Individuals and companies with large stockpiles of e-waste materials can call them at 480.280.9000 for pick up arrangements. No information on privacy and data protection has been provided, please make sure to overwrite or destroy sensitive data in your hard drives before depositing these items.

June – Atlanta, Georgia
Cell Phone Fundraising Program

BusiNeighbor Inc., a Georgia-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit, has recently launched its Cell Phone Fundraising Program to help homeless families in Georgia. Proceeds from this project will be used to buy 500 Payless ShoeSource Gift Cards which will be distributed to five Georgia local charities that provide services to homeless families. BusiNeighbor has partnered with GRC Wireless Recycling and Payless ShoeSource to hold this project. Residents can drop off their old cell phones at any of these locations or arrange for pick up by a volunteer, throught the month of June.
