The cameras in mobile phones have evolved a lot since its early days. Where brands like Nokia have been launching high end camera phones with 41 MP cameras, there are people who require a phone without a camera.

 Apple iPhone 4S

BlackBerry Bold 9780

 This is great offering from Blackberry for the military personnel specially. This is the best no camera-no touch screen phone available in the market. Moreover it has a characteristic Blackberry QWERTY keypad.

It weighs 122g with dimensions 109 x 60 x 14 mm. It has internal memory of 512MB which is expandable upto 32GB using MicroSD cards. It has 3G, GPS, EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA, microUSB, Bluetooth and A2DP. The screen is 2.44 inch TFT with resolution of 480x360p. It has a 625MHz processor and runs on BB OS 6. Java support is also present.

HTC Snap

This one is another no camera-no touch screen phone from HTC which runs an older version of Windows mobile. This phone is a messaging centered phone operating on Windows 6.5 OS. But due to the lack of features of  Windows Mobile and the poor battery life, this one is not considered a good option by some. But, you really don’t have many options if you are looking for a non camera smartphones.

Its dimensions are 116.5×61.5×12 mm with 120g weight. It has 256MB ROM and 192MB RAM. Memory is expandable using a microSDHC expansion slot. It runs on a 528MHz processor. It has a good QWERTY keypad. The screen if 2.4 inches TFT. It has 3G, GPS, EDGE, HSDPA, WAP, WLAN and Bluetooth with A2DP.

Nokia E51

This is for hard core Nokia fans. Though this is a relatively old phone and you may face troubles while finding it in the market but it is a good option for a no-camera phone. It does not have a fancy design but it does have good connectivity options and satisfactory performance.


Its dimensions are 114.8×4 x12mm and weighs 100g only. It has an internal memory of 130MB and a microSD card slot. It runs on Symbian OS9.2 and has a TFT screen with 240×320 pixels. It has 3G, GPRS, HSDPA, EDGE, Bluetooth, WLAN and Infrared connectivity. This phone is good for no camera users but it may become very hard to find it these days.

Nokia 101

This is a good looking phone which comes with Nokia’s reliability. It has doable features at very less price. If you want to buy a simple no camera phone, definitely go for this.

Its dimensions are 110×45.5×4.9mm and weight only 71g. It is dual SIM with GSM+GSM support. It has a flashlight as well. And a microSD slot for up to 16GB. The screen is 1.8 inches TFT with 128x160p resolution. It has ‘NO’ connectivity options at all; not even GPRS, EDGE or even Bluetooths. It has FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

Samsung E1252

 This is a phone for those who want sober looks and sturdy body. This is meant for those who want to make and receive calls and SMS only as it has no internet connectivity options. So please consider its specifications before you buy this phone. Though it has a relatively out dated technology but still for those who do not want to invest much and just need a “PHONE”, it’s definitely their pick.


It has dimensions 112.7×46.7×13.9mm and weighs 77g. There is no internal memory nor is the memory expandable using external cards. The screen is 2 inches with 128x160p resolution and 256 colors. Has dual SIM with GSM+GSM functionality. There is no audio jack but only a loudspeaker. There are absolutely ‘NO’ connectivity options. It can play MP3/MP4 files and has FM radio as well. The USP is its very good battery life and negligible price.

Though a non-camera smartphone is very hard, still the phone such as iPhone 4S one can expect all the latest features. But for people who require a minimalist no feature phone, options like Nokia 101 or Samsung E1252 are always open.
